"WOOD-MAS" Project Implemented Under The Execution of Our University Started its Activities in Partnership with 8 Different Universitie
Within the scope of the project titled “Development of Wood Science Master Program (WOOD-MAS)”, which was submitted to the “ERASMUS MUNDUS DESIGN MEASURE” program by the Forest Industry Engineering and Technology Transfer Application Research Center representing our university and entitled to receive support, which started on 01.10.2024 and will last for 15 months in total, and within the scope of the project numbered 101180390, the Project Activity Meeting was held between 16-17 January 2025 in Sopron, Hungary, hosted by the “University of Sopron” institution with the representatives of the project partner institutions.
Coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samet DEMİREL, one of the faculty members of our university, and the Director of the Technology Transfer Application Research Center of our university, Lecturer Emrah AYVAZ and Assistant Director Lecturer Sedanur KALYONCU worked as a researcher within the scope of the project, faculty members from the following universities participated in the meeting.
Following the project opening speech made by Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samet DEMİREL and the presentation on the road map to be followed regarding the project activities, KTU TTC Director, Lecturer Emrah AYVAZ made a presentation about the ‘Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Programme’, which is planned to be applied in 2026 in partnership with the relevant consortium. Afterwards, representatives from each project partner institution made an informative presentation to the consortium members about the project activities they are responsible for, and the 2-day event continued with workshops on the project outputs to be prepared during the WOOD-MAS Project supported under the ‘Erasmus Mundus Design Measure’ programme.
The main objective of the WOOD-MAS Project is to increase the capacity of higher education institutions in Europe to modernise and internationalise their curricula by developing a complementary, new and transnational master programme in the field of ‘Wood Science’ in partnership with universities worldwide.
